Lithium

With its Mt Alexander landholding, St George holds a large part of the new Mt Ida Lithium Province that is being actively explored for pegmatite hosted lithium.

In October 2022, Delta Lithium (formerly Red Dirt Metals (ASX: DLI)) announced a significant lithium resource at Mt Ida: 12.7Mt @ 1.2% Li20

The LCT Pegmatite corridor that hosts Delta Lithium’s deposit extends north to St George’s Mt Alexander Project which hosts a 15km long stretch of the prospective pegmatite corridor.

Rock chip sampling in 2022 of pegmatite outcrop at Mt Alexander confirmed high-grade lithium, caesium, tantalum and rubidium with assays up to 3.25% Li20, 715ppm Cs20, 192ppm Ta2O5  and 1.37% Rb.

20 drill holes were completed by St George in late 2022 with every hole intersecting pegmatites up to 14m thick. Pegmatites were confirmed by drilling continue up to 200m below surface and remain open. Lithium grades returned by assays were up to 1.8% Li20.

Drilling at the Manta Prospect intersected very wide pegmatites with a continuous 121 metre thick pegmatite intercept and a total of 225m of pegmatites in the drill hole.
